In the Know - 10/27/17

Hi Central,

1. The story is told of a hen and a pig who lived on a farm. The hen had noticed that farmer Dave seemed a little down lately. The hen suggested to the pig that they do something to help cheer farmer Dave up. "What do you have in mind?" said the pig. "Dave loves breakfast. Let's make him eggs and ham?" The pig replied, "For you this would be a sacrifice, for me it's total commitment!"

This Sunday is Consecration Sunday, the day we make our bring our financial commitments to the Lord for 2018. As you bring your commitment card to worship and to the altar on Sunday, I invite you to take a moment to kneel at the altar and pray for your church, its mission, the missions we support and lead, as well as our broken and troubled world. Thanks in advance for your generosity.

2. Last Sunday our vision and process team met for a very productive 2 1/2 hour session. We have been examining our mission, seeing its strengths and opportunities to get better as we look to the future. We have been looking at how do we help not only help people get connected to Christ, but also how do we change the world. We change the world one person at a time. The gospel calls us to no less.

3. I can't wait for PUTT PUTT this Sunday afternoon form 3-5pm. I have heard great things about it. It is a fun family outing and time to have fun together. I encourage you to not only come, but to bring invite friends and neighbors with you. I am thankful for Logan and all the time her team is putting in to make this a special event.

Have a great weekend and see you Sunday! God's Best, Scott
